In
07/01/2002 a Lebanese
heritage center
was established
in order to be
an authoritive
resource for all
the historical
productions in
Lebanon and the
whole world. And
a central documentary
resort that keeps
every field, branch,
production and
language of the
Lebanese heritage.
The
center is headed
by Henri Zoghaib
who is assisted
by a scientific
council which
is consisted of:
Dr. Elham Klab
Al Busat, Dr.
Zaina Bittar,
the Ambassador
Foad Al
Turk, the artist
Elias AlRahbani,
Fawaz Abdallah,
Dr. Sami Makarem,
Dr. Najwa Nasr,
the artist Wajeeh
Nahleh in addition
to the Dramatist
Morissi Maalouf
and Dr. Waleed
Ghulmieh as well.
OBJECTIVES
Collecting
the lost local
heritage that
had been exposed
to disarrangement,
had been neglected,
forgotten, or
even hidden by
its original owners.
Searching for
all the Lebanese
productions that
spread all over
the world.

Recovering all
kinds of Lebanese
manuscripts.
Recovering the
complete collections
(in every language)
that were published
by Lebanese authors,
poets and intellectuals.
Recovering materials,
instruments, papers,
tools, documents,
letters, pictures,
dissertations,
academic high
studies, periodic
publications,
information concerning
eminent figures
in intellectual
heritage and Lebanese
history.
Obtaining accurate
documentation,
extended and refined
archiving that
are based on scientific
bases in accordance
with the most
recent developments
in the field of
digits and electrons.
DIVISIONS
OF THE CENTER
The
center intends
to gather public,
private and personal
divisions that
embrace all sorts
of Lebanese heritage,
such as:
Lebanese literature
(in all languages)
Folk literature
(poetic, fictional,
printed, and manuscript
texts, in addition
to folk proverbs
and multifarious
documents as well.
Overseas literature:
a league of overseas
poets, Andalusia
community, and
other overseas
literature.
The Lebanese Zajal(a
kind of folkloric
singing consists
of short verses
of the same rhythm)

of Lebanese authors
in all languages.

in Lebanese translations
from Arabic &
into Arabic as
well.

in radio and television
programs, in addition
to video division
that contains
videoed dramatic,
musical choreographic
productions and
Lebanese novelist
and documentary
films.

ACQUISITIONS
Moreover,
this center also
included acquisitions
such as; materials,
other original
or traditional
instruments, drawings
or pictures of
incarnate, Lebanese
folkloric clothes,
traditional musical
instruments and
samples of artisanship
industry.
On the other
hand a community
(Lebanese heritage
friends) is established
in order to support
work process,
through providing
the center with
all information,
in addition to
new subjects as
well.
However, the center
periodically organizes
local & international
lectures, symposiums
and conferences
in order to discuss
human & intellectual
heritage in Lebanon.
