Declaring a Day to Celebrate Arab Documents Document No 24
Referring to Article 10 from the Inner Charter of the Executive Council
A member of the Executive Council, on behalf of the Syrian Arab Republic has suggested the addition of this article to the Council's agenda, to declare a day to celebrate Arab Documents. He made it clear that the Arab Club for Information Arabcin has made this initiative and called for the 17th of October of each year to be a day for celebrating Arab Document Day.
This document you have in front of you describes the importance of documents, the aims behind celebrating Arab Document Day, and the activities that must be added to the program of events on that day. So that this day will be a real celebration Day for all Arabs working in the fields of documents, and a day for cooperation innovation and creativity in the field of preserving Documents.

The Decision of ALECSO

The ALECSO decision approves the decision handed to the Executive Council to mark a day for celebrating Arab Document Day all over the Arab Nation. The events of this day will be relevant activities that reflect the importance of Documents as effective tools that prevails our heritage, values and principles of the Arab Nation. It is also important to provide all needed materials to reassure that it will be an activated tool. This should be done in the frame of benefiting from modern technologies in the organization, storage and retrieval processes. In addition to encouraging joint cooperation among governmental and non-governmental organizations. Among the proposals also, the need to use mass media of all kind to convey the importance of documents to VIPs and citizens via broadcasting and written materials.
